Epic Revenue Cycle Systems Director

Overview: World-class acute care hospital, closely affiliated wtih the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital System, is seeking an experienced Epic Revenue Cycle Systems Director to lead the replacement of our patient access and patient accounting applications. The successful candidate will be a key member of a cohesive IT leadership team. This role is designed for an experienced IT leader with revenue cycle systems experience who thrives on projects, collaboration and interdisciplinary teams.

**This leadership role requires the flexibility to work an expanded work schedule, including early mornings, nights & weekends during major implementation and support efforts**

Responsibilities
• Lead the implementation of Epic Revenue Cycle products (Cadence, Prelude, ADT, Resolute HB, Resolute PB, etc.)
• Oversee the replacement of all patient access and patient accounting applications (including associated third party applications)
• Accountable for the success of the revenue cycle systems implementation and the operations and sunset of legacy systems; manage all vendors
• Partner with Patient Accounting, Patient Access, Clinical and Business Units to ensure that application development and deployment is performed in an efficient, cost effective and technically sound manner while meeting the needs and goals of the organization
• Oversee legacy systems vendor activities in support of ongoing operations (level 2 and 3 support, required upgrades, reports and queries, necessary project work, etc.)
• Research, plan, develop and implement technical solutions to satisfy the goals and objectives of the department and hospital and to enhance productivity; communicate recommendations
• Establish policies, procedures and standards to measure and monitor the success of applications, databases and production processes; continually strive to improve existing policies; identify areas of improvement and provide action plans when appropriate
• Provide regular status updates, including reporting of escalated issues and solutions to the Epic Program Director
• Establish customer service standards and, while leading by example, promote and enforce adoption of standards to staff
• Serve as escalation point for all project and operation issues; maintain Hospital for Special Surgery’s high standard for exceptional customer service & communication to all staff while providing resolutions; inform customers of work progress, ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Build & Direct the Revenue Cycle Systems team: determine team structure; hire staff as needed; ensure proper onboarding; provide guidance to the project team through the design, build, implementation and maintenance phases of the revenue cycle replacement program; ensure a common vision, plan and goal are maintained across all areas of the project
• Develop staff in accordance with position accountabilities and Hospital for Special Surgery’s standard of excellence; schedule and assign work; provide timely and high quality performance feedback

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required (experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement)
• Prior experience implementing Epic Systems Revenue Cycle Solutions essential
• 10+ years’ progressive Revenue Cycle and Information Technology experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a management or director level role; ability to demonstrate strong leadership within matrix teams
• Detailed knowledge of Patient Accounting in an inpatient setting (specific experience in New York State billing ideal)
• Expert knowledge of healthcare information technology project management including selection, implementation, maintenance and strategic planning
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on-time and on-budget
• PMP/ Project Management Certification a definite plus
